totem of the week .Toad Inner strength and protection

This one has been around me my whole life, and it is one that I never really took notice of , they just were always there , When I was a child I would hunt for them in the woods near my house and just hold them and talk to them , then let them go. yes I know I can't figure out why my family thought I was so strange :) But any way , they still live all around and the last few years the toads have gotten really huge around the house. I still find great peace in holding them and just saying hi .

Frog/Toad:

Frogs and toads symbolize feminine energy, fecundity, water, new life, new beginnings, the mystery of creation, cleansing, refreshing, purifying, refilling, clearing negativity, replenishment, positive energy, transformation, beginning a new cycle, long life, good luck, changing luck, starting new projects and prosperity. They are a Goddess symbol and are connected to the moon. They are connected to Heket, Isis, Hathor, Ch'ing-Wa Sheng, Aphrodite, Sabazius and Ahriman.
The toad most commonly associated with poison. When a toad is molested it secrets or ejects poison that irritates the eyes and mucous membranes of many, but not all of its predators. The poisons of the Colorado River toad (B. alvarius) and the Giant toad (B. marinus, also called the cane toad) affect animals as large as dogs, and in some instances can cause temporary paralysis or even death. Dried toad poison has been used to treat various ailments in the past, and it is known that some species of toad poison can produce hallucinogenic effects in humans.

Contrary to popular belief, toads do not cause warts.
